As I was hanging out with Daniel and Tina last night, I had a flash of a photo essay in the near future. Anyway, So I am headed to Washington DC for a few months where I landed an internship with John Harrington Photography. I am very excited I know this is going to be a great chance to learn some stuff and hopefully I can come back and be a more effective freelance photographer. Wish me luck!
Daniel and Blue look back and listen to Tina.
I am really digging my new little plastic friend. Becca and I named her Pearl. anyway here she is.
Went downtown with Becca this morning, we ended up buying a Holga, which we will experiment with. After that we sat down to some coffee and discussed many things. One of them being writing and the true meaning of words.
Have you ever noticed that some people say a lot with their hands when they speak. Well she is one of them, I think she is on of the most expressive people I have ever known. Whenever she publishes her first novel and get all rich and famous I can say "hey I knew her back when she..."
Went out to the Six Arms last night for dinner.
With Super Tuesday in full tilt, Becca sat and got ready for work as Carlos and I watched CNN. I think I am growing very tired of the pres race already. I just want November to be here so I can vote and get it over with.
Some stories require a portrait other end up lending themselves to a portrait. Today has been a busy day, Spent most of it getting a packet together and sending it off to another newspaper in hopes of landing an internship. While doing this I also came across an archive disc with bunch of portraits I really dig these. They may not be the best portraits ever, but I think they are pretty good.

I just got a 12-24mm lens this week, I have to remember how to put a wide angle to use. It has been a while since I had one in my arsenal. I have to remind myself not to over use it.
Had lunch with Carlos today, we talked about everything from Grad School to the uses of the phrase "but Still." If this guys doesn't end up as one of the 21st centuries great thinkers there is something wrong with the world.
Waiting at Sea -Tac at 4:30 am for a flight home , wow that was an early flight. Anyway I am now safe and sound in El Paso for the next week. Lets see what kind of trouble I can get into while I'm home.
Like all photographers, we take millions of photos of loved ones. I would bet that some of those photos are the best photos we get sometimes. Anyway here is one of my favorite subjects my girlfriend.

Sometimes it is nice to be a tourist, I went down to the market earlier today. I just hung around the fish throwers for a few minutes and was amazed at how many people come see them even when its cold outside.
Came back and started editing some audio I have been meaning to edit. Nothing special just kind of a audio journal entry.
Work Station: Carpet...random sock!

Shot this last Saturday for the Enterprise up in Lynnwood.
Today has been a pretty long day. I got a portfolio critique from a photographer at the Albuquerque Journal today. My portfolio needed the once over, it had been a while since my last kick in the ass. The critique has already started to help me out. I also got a call to shoot a gig in Edmonds tomorrow afternoon. It feels good to get an assignment sheet again, lets all hope this trend continues.
Spent the afternoon working on cover letters, captions and walking around Capital Hill. I needed to get out of my apartment to get any work done. When I got back I was cold and eventually got bored so I took a self portrait...which you see below. HA!
Spent a few hours at the Seattle Aquarium today.
Walked around downtown a bit today went in to starbucks with my girlfriend. We sat and talked for a whlie, it was nice.
I have been looking into getting back to Guatemala in the next year or possibly going to Mexico city for a photo workshop I heard about yesterday. I shot this photo last summer in Chichicastenango's market. I really miss Guatemala and the trips through the country.
