Frank ferree Border Relief in Colonia Jardin...
Went with Frank Ferree Border Relief group this morning to Colonia Jardin, its a colonia near Nuevo Progreso. The group takes food, toys and other essentials to people across the border that need help.
The group which was started by Frank Ferree has been delivering help for many years. Ferree started doing this after WWI when he came to the Valley to grow citrus, but ended up devoting himself to helping the poor.
First caring a sack of food and clothing along the river handing these items to the people that needed them most. This eventually grew into what it is today. The group distributes to area's in and around Matamoros, Reynosa and Nuevo Progreso.

SOL... its not what you think.
I think I've mentioned these photos before, but regardless we get assignments down here called Slice of Life. These are profiles that run on A2 in the paper most of them are pretty boring, however you do get to practice lighting and sometimes you get meet some incredibly interesting people.
Like Bob Stovall who was a horse racing jockey and now judges dog races along with cruises his 1973 Lotus Europa with a Lotus car club here in the Valley. This guy has lived everywhere from coast to coast and a few stops in between.
